Plans to upgrade facilities at Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club will be given a massive
boost if Fiona Simpson is re-elected and the LNP win Government at the State
Election.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson met with Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club members today
to deliver news of a $100,000 funding commitment to help with planning, design
and project management for a new club house.
Ms Simpson said that she understands the important role that Surf Life Savers play in keeping us safe on our beaches and wants to help the Mudjimba Surf Life Saving Club to improve their facilities.
“Mudjimba is a fantastic local community and I want to give this hard-working club a helping hand to progress their plans to build a new club house with training rooms, meeting rooms and function facilities,” Ms Simpson said.
“The old club house is in need of a massive upgrade and I am keen to support this family-friendly club in their vision for a new club house with a sustainable business model which doesn’t rely on income from pokie machines or gambling.
“If I am elected under an LNP Government, this money will go a long way to help them with all the planning and design work that needs to be done and to develop a business case to ensure the project is sustainable.
Club President Dean Hore said that the Club was very grateful for Fiona’s support.
“$100,000 will be a massive boost to help us build facilities the community will be proud of,” Mr Hore said.
“We will be able to design a new clubhouse that will be aesthetically pleasing and will have more suitable facilities for people with disabilities and for our growing Nippers program.”
Ms Simpson said that a vote for anyone other than the LNP will see a return of a do-nothing Labor Government which has neglected the Sunshine Coast.
“I want to keep the Sunshine Coast a family-friendly community that cares for our area and
cares for each other,” Ms Simpson said.
Improving the facilities at Mudjimba Surf Club is all a part of our plan to support hard-working community groups and Build a Better Queensland.”
