Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson is sporting a 70s look and lending her voice to help people with disabilities get involved in sailing.
As newly-appointed Patron of Sailability Sunshine Coast Queensland (SSCQ), Fiona is delighted to support their fundraising concert on Sunday 29th March at Siena Catholic Primary School.
The fabulous 40 piece Sunshine Coast Concert Band and singers Tanya McFadyen and Alan Winter will be
performing in the “Love Boat” Concert with a special guest appearance in an Abba medley by Fiona Simpson MP.
There will also be a World Record attempt to have the longest moving conga line of wheelchairs.
Ms Simpson said she was delighted to support the fantastic work of the Sailability (sailing for the disabled) volunteers.
“This not-for-profit club runs sailing for the disabled sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays on the Maroochy River,” Ms Simpson said.
“People come from disability groups and schools all over the Sunshine Coast and as far south as Caboolture to get active and have fun on the water.”
“I’m sure we can have a good crack at setting a new world record for the longest wheelchair conga line.”
“This will be a fun event for both able-bodied and those with disabilities.”
