Budding playwrights can have their play professionally produced by winning the Premier’s 2014 Drama Award. We are looking for playwrights who have a story about Queensland to tell. The plays don’t have to be set in Queensland but the spirit of the award is about reflecting an aspect of Queensland life, from the past, present or future.
The Premier’s Drama Award is administered by Queensland Theatre Company and is a commitment to discovering and highlighting Queensland’s dramatic talent.
Since it was first awarded in 2002, the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award has seen 21 new plays creatively developed and commissioned, with the winning playwrights continuing to write for the stage and produce new work.
Applications are open now and close on 30 November 2013 with three finalists to be announced in January 2014.
