Pedestrian safety on Aerodrome Road will be improved thanks to a new signalised pedestrian crossing currently under construction between May Street and Fourth Avenue.
Local residents have lobbied for an extra crossing and this a good outcome for the local community who crosses this road to access local shops and eateries.
The location was chosen following investigations that looked at factors such as crash history, safety and pedestrian convenience.
This site delivers a positive outcome for pedestrian safety and I’m pleased to be able to provide this important improvement for the local community.
New signage will be installed to alert motorists that they will no longer be able to turn right from May Street into Aerodrome Road for safety reasons.
