Marcoola pedestrians crossing David Low Way will benefit from a $288,000 safety boost.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said work will start from mid-November on a new pedestrian refuge on David Low Way, near Seaside Boulevard.
“We’re pleased to deliver this new pedestrian refuge for the local community, which will help improve safety for pedestrians crossing David Low Way,” Ms Simpson said.
“The new refuge will be located just north of Seaside Boulevard and will benefit residents who want to access the bus stop on the western side of David Low Way.
“It’s a great outcome for the community and will provide added safety for more vulnerable pedestrians such as children, the elderly or disabled.
“Works are due to start in mid-November and we expect the project to take about one month to complete.
“We’re pleased to be able to take this proactive step to improve pedestrian safety and make our roads safer for the local community.
“This is a great example of how we are achieving better infrastructure and planning for all road users and part of our strong plan to make Queensland a safer place to live, work and raise a family.”
