What an irony. At a time of record road congestion, $1.6 Billion in funding for Rail to Maroochydore continues to be caught in the Federal Government’s infrastructure freeze and review.
During State Parliament, I asked questions about what the State Government was doing to lobby their Federal colleagues to release these funds and to match them.
The response has been radio silence on where these funds are at, as the 90-day Federal freeze and review was due to end 100 days ago but there’s been no announcement. Also, the State’s new business case on the rail line which is supposed to be released next year has already been substantially completed – but not released.
I’m looking forward to a change of State Government so the focus can be put on building things.
