Myself and my LNP colleagues for the past month have been calling for support for small and family businesses when snap lockdowns occur.
We are calling for the State Government to implement a COVID Business Lockdown Support Package and suggestions include:
- LUMP LOCKDOWN PAYMENTS: payments for small businesses to cover loss of income due to lockdowns
- DEEP CLEANING COVER: a rebate covering deep cleaning fees if a business is identified as a COVID-19 exposure venue
- EVENT CANCELLATION REBATES: covers financial losses if event is cancelled due to a lockdown
These businesses need to know that they are not alone – even a small shutdown can have long-term consequences. Small and family businesses are the heart of the Sunshine Coast and must be looked after.
