Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson praised the Coolum Beach Surf Life Saving Club for organising this year’s special ANZAC Day Boat Parade.
Ms Simpson said the Club’s ANZAC Day Boat Parade was especially moving for her as she waited on the beach and watched the oars men and women raise their oars to salute those who bravely served in the First
World War.
“Waiting on the beach in the early morning sun to receive a poppy to place on the boat reel, was an especially poignant moment for me this ANZAC Day,” Ms Simpson said.
“The Coolum Beach SLSC paid an extra special tribute to the thousands of Queenslanders, both at home and overseas, who bravely took on extraordinary challenges to serve our nation and especially to honour those who never returned home.”
