Local residents in Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headland are set to benefit from new traffic signals at the intersection of Pacific Terrace and Mooloolaba Road (also known as Buderim Avenue).
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson has announced funding of $1.5 million for the new signalised intersection under the LNP Government Safer Roads Sooner program.
The signalised intersection will provide a safe place for pedestrians to cross this busy road.
Fiona Simpson said that design work was currently underway with delivery expected to be in the next financial year (2015-16).
“Local residents have raised concerns about difficulty crossing the road at this location to access the bus stops and the short cut through to Pacific Terrace,” Ms Simpson said.
“I am delighted to announce that funding has now been allocated to provide safety improvements at this busy intersection.
Further information about design and potential changes to traffic conditions will be available closer to the
start of construction.
