Pedestrian and bike rider surveys
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has advised that pedestrian and bike rider surveys will be undertaken intermittently from 13 February 2023 for approximately two weeks (weather permitting) for the Sunshine Motorway, Mooloolah River Interchange (MRI) Upgrade.
Cameras will be installed at various locations at Karawatha Drive, Seriata Way and Bundilla Boulevard in Mountain Creek to count the number of pedestrians and bike riders who use existing pathways and crossings. Data will also be collected at the Nicklin Way underpass between Marra Court and Incana Court. Please refer to the map below for the pedestrian and bike rider survey camera locations.
The surveys will be undertaken during the day and the information gathered by the project team will be used to help inform design work for the MRI project.
MRI design work is progressing and expected to be completed in 2023. Construction timeframes and start date for Stage 1 will be determined during the design phase.
