How can the State Labor Government dream up new taxes without counting the cost on people?
In response to my Question asked in Parliament, the Treasurer admitted that no modelling had been undertaken to assess what impacts a higher land tax hike will have on small businesses. I also asked the Small Business Minister about how they’d modelled the impacts of all the taxes upon small business and she refused to answer this question.
In regard to Labor’s proposed new waste tax, industry predicts it could cost an extra $2000 to build a new home.
Labor’s new waste tax will slug everyone throughout Queensland for the State Government’s failure to stop waste coming over the border. There are other solutions to this problem.
It’s interesting that no interstate waste is being dumped on the Gold Coast or Brisbane where their councils have taken a stand. It’s only Ipswich’s Labor Council that has super dumps and the State Labor Government doesn’t want to call-in those dump applications to prevent future super dumps in that area.
