On the weekend I participated in the annual Mooloolaba Rotary Lift the Lid Walk for Mental Health. This was its sixth year and there was a phenomenal number of people in attendance. This walk so far has raised over $50,000 for Australian Rotary Health (ARH) Mental Health Research.
The walk is to breakdown the social stigma of mental health, to make it ‘ok – not to be ok’ and to be able to talk about that.
I am proud to be an Ambassador for the Lift the Lid Walk and would like to give a special mention to local Mooloolaba Resident, Vicki Stewart, who is a passionate mental health advocate that started this walk through Mooloolaba Rotary and it is now held across 15 locations across Australia.
I am sure that those who know Vicki will join me in commending her, for her commitment to the betterment of our community. Thank you Vicki.
