This week we’ve seen the terrible news that police officers, Constable Matthew Arnold and Constable Rachel McCrow, were shot and killed in the line of duty.
As with most of the community I found this news heart breaking – they were doing their jobs and lost their lives in the process. It is a timely reminder of how hard our police work and that they face danger every day to keep the community safe.
There is a heavy weight on our hearts knowing that too many families and colleagues have been impacted by this unfathomable loss.
My thoughts are with Matthew and Rachel’s families, friends and colleagues.
