It’s good news for the local residents crossing to the beach at David Low Way, Marcoola, says Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson.
Ms Simpson said: “The Queensland Transport Department has confirmed funding has been approved for a pedestrian refuge just south of the Mudjimba Esplanade intersection.
“The pedestrian refuge will help make it safer and easier for people to cross. This is a step in the right direction and will improve safety for residents crossing David Low Way to reach the beach and the skate park. However, the fight continues to get funding allocated for an upgrade to the Mudjimba Esplanade/David Low Way intersection as well. This intersection upgrade is estimated to cost more than a million dollars.”
