Over 40 participants joined Member for Ninderry Dan Purdie and myself at a forum we hosted to learn about new employment and business opportunities the National Insurance Disability Scheme (NDIS) will bring.
The NDIS aims to help will Queenslanders with a significant and permanent disability, together with their families and carers, to better manage their own support. According to the NDIA, we are expecting an 88% increase in the number of people receiving disability support on the Sunshine Coast when it is rolled out locally with effect from 1st January 2019. It is also expected to create over a thousand new full time equivalent local jobs in disability services.
