Thank you to those offering help for Mooloolaba residents impacted by Sunday’s severe storm event.
Member for Maroochydore, Fiona Simpson said that St Vincent de Paul is co-ordinating the recovery effort and helping to meet the needs of those who have lost their homes.
People in need of support or wanting to help should contact Annette Baker at Vinnies on 5459 5222 or email Annette.Baker@svdpqld.org.au.
Ms Simpson said that donations can also be made via the GIVIT website www.givit.org.au and click on South East Storm.
“Monetary donations are most useful in helping people to rebuild their lives after a disaster like this,” Ms Simpson said.
“Particularly where people aren’t covered by insurance, a financial contribution is most useful to help people replace the items they have lost.
GIVIT is a national, online not-for-profit organisation connecting those who have with those who need. Its purpose is to ensure quality donated goods and services get to where they are needed most by connecting and
inspiring an online network of givers.
