The Queensland Government is undertaking extensive consultation with parents, schools, unions and education sectors to map out the future of education and create Queensland’s first Education Accord.
All Queenslanders are encouraged to share their ideas that will determine priorities for our schools and ensure students are given the best possible education and job opportunities.
You can have your say by visiting the website www.deta.qld.gov.au/about/educationaccord and providing your feedback on the seven key questions which are designed to facilitate discussion and capture a wide range of opinions.
Feedback from these questions will be discussed at the Queensland Education Accord Summit to be held in Brisbane on Thursday 25 September 2014.
I am seeking expressions of interest from three community representatives (one parent, teacher and principal) to represent the Maroochydore electorate at the Summit. If you are interested in participating please contact my office by 18 July 2014.
Alternatively, you may wish to call in to my office to discuss your opinions with me personally at my Education Accord “drop-in” morning on Friday 25th July from 10.00 am – 12.00 noon. Please RSVP by calling 5443 7995 or emailing my office at Maroochydore@parliament.qld.gov.au.
I look forward to hearing your suggestions on shaping Queensland’s future for Education.
