Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson today invited community members to join the conversation in planning Queensland’s first Education Accord.
The Education Accord will bring together ideas that will determine priorities for our schools and ensure students are given the best possible education and job opportunities.
Ms Simpson is seeking feedback from the local community on seven key questions stemming from the education priorities identified in the Queensland Plan.
“We have a great opportunity to make sure that the opinions and interests of Sunshine Coast residents are considered in the Education Accord” Ms Simpson said.
“The Education Accord will bring together ideas that will determine priorities for our schools and ensure students are given the best possible education and job opportunities.
“I am inviting local residents to call in to see me at my office on Friday 25th July between 10.00 am and 12.00 noon to provide their feedback to the seven key questions.
“Alternatively, people may wish to provide their comments online at www.dete.qld.gov.au/educationaccord.
“I encourage all interested community members to take part in shaping the future of education in this state.
The feedback received will then inform discussion at the Queensland Education Accord Summit, to be held in Brisbane on Thursday 25 September 2014. There, the Education Accord will be developed.
