Local sports and community groups have received a welcome funding boost through the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) grants.
Nearly $130,000 in grants will be paid to five local groups in the Maroochydore electorate, including:
- Marcoola Surf Club will receive $29,818 to purchase a tractor;
- Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre will receive $31,307 to create and fitout a cafeteria;
- Mates4Mates will receive $20,242 to purchase gym equipment;
- Maroochydore Beach Bowls Club will receive $12,025 to purchase a greens roller and mower;
- Mooloolaba Yacht Club will receive $35,000 to purchase a demountable building;
This is fantastic news for these local organisations and all the volunteers who work so hard for them behind the scenes.
The community benefits from the services of these hard-working non-profit organisations who provide vital services to local community.
I am committed to supporting them and ensuring they receive funding wherever possible.
I encourage all local groups, however big or small, to apply for the next round of Super Funding and make the most of this wonderful opportunity.
