Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson has welcomed news of State Government funding of a total of $165,233 for eight local community groups in her electorate.
In the latest round of funding through the Gambling Community Benefit Fund and the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund money was awarded to:
Mooloolaba Coast Guard | $19,332 | Upgrade IT and weather board equipment |
Support at Home Maroochydore | $8,944 | Upgrade telephone system |
Maroochydore Rugby Union FC | $23,985 | Construct a shed |
Cotton Tree Childcare Centre | $31,760 | Upgrade bathroom and paint internally |
Mooloolaba Childcare Centre | $30,610 | Purchase equipment and new front door |
Maroochydore Scout Group | $31,681 | Upgrade roof and fencing |
Coolum Beach & District State Emergency Auxiliary | $2,121 | Purchase CPR training equipment |
Coolum-Peregian RSL Sub Branch | $16,800 | Upgrade kitchen and refrigeration |
“The Maroochydore Rugby Union Club will now able to start major renovations thanks to the construction of a new shed and the Cotton Tree Childcare centre are thrilled that they’ll be getting a new bathroom and a fresh coat of paint,” Ms Simpson said.
“Organisations such as these make such a valuable contribution to our local community so it’s fantastic to be able to give them some good news of financial help,” Ms Simpson said.
“These grants will provide much needed funds to help these not-for-profit organisations provide ongoing services and activities which benefit our local residents”.
