Sunshine Coast commuters will benefit from double the capacity on a popular afternoon Nambour service from this week.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said the 3.30pm Central to Nambour service would be boosted from a three carriage to a six carriage train.
“Earlier this year, I asked Queensland Rail to look at smarter, more cost-effective ways to improve services on the Sunshine Coast line,” Ms Simpson said.
“From this week, Sunshine Coast commuters will have a more comfortable experience on their journey home, with twice the seating capacity available on the 3.30pm Nambour service,” he said.
“I’m pleased we have been able to deliver a common sense solution to improve the daily commute for people on the Sunshine Coast line.”
More than 1000 passengers use Sunshine Coast service during the afternoon peak period.
