Seniors week was celebrated with a song at Allora Gardens today with Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson joining in.
Ms Simpson, who hosted the event, said she believed Seniors Week (18 to 26 August) was an important opportunity to celebrate the valuable contributions that seniors made to our community.
“Honouring our older citizens’ achievements and the special contribution they make to our communities is really important,” Ms Simpson said.
“Seniors have invested their time in raising their families, building our economy and serving our local community and they should be acknowledged and thanked for all they have done.”
“They continue to contribute enormously through their vast wisdom, skills and experience.”
