Back on the home front, we’re still awaiting news of when the State Government assistance package for businesses affected by the latest lockdown will start. It’s been a tough time for so many made harder by the uncertainty.
Well before the latest lockdown we were advocating for the State Government to be ready with help for small and family businesses in the event the Government sent our community back into lockdown. Unfortunately the State Treasurer said “no” and that he would only consider a lockdown package if and when that occurred. Well, here we are again, the community is in lockdown and no package has been released. This is poor and that’s why we’re fighting for the support.
Finally this week the Queensland Government announced a COVID-19 Business Support Grants of $5,000 for small and medium businesses across Queensland that have been impacted by the current South-East Queensland lockdown that commenced on 31 July 2021. However, these grants do not open until mid-August. For more information CLICK HERE
As soon as we hear of the detail of how people can apply, I will post it.
