Boosting training opportunities that lead to jobs is a key part of the LNP’s plan to cut unemployment and ensure young people can get a job and get ahead on the Sunshine Coast.
As the Shadow Minister for Training and Skills Development, I was joined on the Sunshine Coast yesterday by LNP Deputy Leader Tim Mander.
We announced an LNP Government will establish a Sunshine Coast Region Jobs and Skills Board to ensure young people can get the right training that links to jobs, not just qualifications.
The LNP’s training plan will help young people confidently find a career through training that is linked to jobs.
Every region has different employment challenges and opportunities that need a local approach, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
The LNP’s Sunshine Coast Region Jobs and Skills Board will assess local training shortages and help drive local solutions with State Government support. Most importantly it will put business and industry who have the jobs at the table to help provide more targeted assistance so people are training for careers where there are jobs and not just qualifications with no employment.
