Local community clubs have received a funding boost through Round 2 of the Active Clubs Program funding, to further enrich the Queensland way of life and build on our strong community foundations to deliver better health and well-being outcomes for all Queenslanders.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said she was delighted that sixteen local clubs in the Maroochydore Electorate had been successful and each would receive $2,000 each to support safety measures for members and volunteers.
The successful club recipients were:

- Sunshine Coast Churches Referees Association Inc
- Mooloolaba Bowls Club Inc
- The Maroochydore Beach Bowls Club Inc

“It is great to see local clubs receive this funding boost. The funding from this program is part of the strategy to support club volunteers to provide flexible and safe physical activities for Queenslanders and to help them participate in sport and recreation,” Ms Simpson said.
“Wherever possible I will support the community in my electorate to ensure they receive the much-needed funding.”
It’s always good to see community groups get the support they deserve to support their volunteers and work in the community.
