Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson today welcomed news that 8 more first year constables have joined the Sunshine Coast Police Service.
Ms Simpson said the State Government is delivering on its election promise to revitalise frontline services.
“These new police officers are in addition to the 19 more police officers added to the Sunshine Coast region since April 2012.” Ms Simpson said.
Ms Simpson said the recruits had successfully completed their 25 week training program to learn the skills they will need to help keep our local communities safe.
“The QPS is undergoing its biggest recruitment drive in 20 years.” Ms Simpson said.
