Mooloolaba boaties are now benefiting better access to the harbour thanks to the nearly $1 million worth of works to upgrade the two public boat ramps.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said the upgrade was another great example of the Queensland Government delivering on its election commitment to provide better marine infrastructure.
“I’m pleased to announce works are now complete on the two floating walkways and ramp widening works,” Ms Simpson said.
“This project involved widening both ramps to make launching and recovering trailer boats much easier.
“As Mooloolaba Harbour is one of the busiest on the Queensland coast, the completion of these two floating walkways will help to ease congestion.”
Ms Simpson said the benefits of the walkways would also include added safety for the community.
“This will make getting out on the water quicker, safer and more enjoyable especially for children and the elderly,” Ms Simpson said.
“These facilities will serve the growing recreational boating public for years to come.”
Sunshine Coast company Halls Contracting Pty Ltd carried out the works.
