Fighting to restore Federal Funding for the Mooloolah River Interchange.
Restoring safety where you live with strong laws and consequences for actions across the state, as part of the rollout of the Making Queensland Safer laws.
Expanding the POLAIR operations on the Sunshine Coast.
Commencing delivery of 9 short stay programs for youth who are demonstrating high-risk behaviours as part of the Regional Reset Program, including on the Sunshine Coast.
Delivering mental health support with endED short-term accommodation in Woombye.
Enhancing the critical health workforce by employing 78 new junior doctors at the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service.
The Wave
The Wave was announced as part of the 2032 Delivery Plan for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games and beyond. It will include a heavy passenger rail line from Beerwah to Birtinya, connecting with a metro-style service to allow journeys to the Sunshine Coast Airport via Mountain Creek and Maroochydore CBD.
With the expected increase in population and the current low public transport usage in the Sunshine Coast, The Wave will significantly improve travel with the introduction of a modern public transport system that will be accessible to all.
Projects to facilitate The Wave
The Wave is one of the major infrastructure legacy projects for the Sunshine Coast that will improve the way people travel.
The Wave includes 3 major projects:
- The Wave – Stages 1 and 2 (Rail), a heavy passenger rail line from Beerwah to Birtinya.
- The Wave Stage 3 (Metro), a high-frequency, high-capacity metro-style service from Birtinya to the Sunshine Coast Airport.
- Mooloolah River Interchange Upgrade.
