Whilst the Sunshine Coast largely dodged a bullet from the brunt of the very slow and powerful Cyclone Alfred, not all residents were spared especially those in and around Nambour. The Insurance Council of Australia has advised that a total of 836 claims were made on the Sunshine Coast.
If you were affected, Disaster Assistance Recovery Grants of up to $25,000 for producers, small businesses and not-for-profits are available. Personal hardship financial assistance is also available for those affected on the Sunshine Coast at Wharf Road, Bli Bli and some addresses in Eudlo and Nambour.
