ANZAC Day for me is a special time to remember and be thankful for the many ordinary people who bravely took on extraordinary challenges to serve our nation, and of course, to acknowledge the ultimate sacrifice of the thousands who never returned.
Remembrance is about learning from the past to inform our future. Thankfulness is about respecting and honouring these men and women of valour and dignity.
As the crowds grow every year, I am also filled with pride that together as a community we take the time to remember them and say thank you.
I look forward to seeing you at some of the services held across the Sunshine Coast on April 25.
