Local sports and community groups have received a welcome funding boost through the latest round of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) grants.
Ms Simpson said nearly $130,000 in grants will be paid to six local groups in the Maroochydore electorate, including:
- Marcoola Surf Club will receive $29,818 to purchase a tractor;
- Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre will receive $31,307 to create and fitout a cafeteria;
- Mates4Mates will receive $20,242 to purchase gym equipment;
- Maroochydore Beach Bowls Club will receive $12,025 to purchase a greens roller and mower;
- Mooloolaba Yacht Club will receive $35,000 to purchase a demountable building;

The GCBF provides Queensland non-for-profit community organisations the opportunity to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and economic opportunities for their local communities.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund 30th Anniversary Super Round is NOW OPEN and closes
30 April 2024 – the Super Round sees the maximum grant increase from $35,000 to $100,000.
