Blow the Whistle On Waste
Fiona is calling on public servants and community members to blow the whistle on Government waste
She urged them to share their ideas about how to reform Government and cut the waste by confidentially going to the LNP Waste Watch website www.stoplaborwaste.com.
Following a series of Waste Watch forums across the State, Fiona has received feedback about Government waste, particularly in the wasteful processes of Government red tape.
At the Health Waste Watch forum New Farm, cutting waste and putting the money back into frontline services drew community feedback. Hosted jointly by Fiona, Shadow Health Minister Mark McArdle and local LNP candidate Rob Cavalucci, they heard how Government waste and red tape has haemorrhaged vital dollars from frontline health services and frustrated dedicated staff who work tirelessly to maintain and restore the good health of Queenslanders, they said.
The feedback from communities is the same all over Queensland – this government is compromising patient care because the red tape and bureaucracy continues to grow at the cost of frontline services.
This is on top of the health payroll debacle which cost $280 million. That figure is equivalent to 4,725 much needed nurses or an extra 350 beds in our public hospitals.”
