Rail asset sale lies exposed
Wednesday, 13 October 2010
Shadow Transport Minister Fiona exposed the State Government’s deceitful plans to sell Queensland Rail before the Government formally announced its plans.
In Parliament on May 21, 2009, Ms Simpson asked the Transport Minister Nolan about their QR asset sale plans, which was well-known among the public sector.
However, the Minister denied knowledge and proclaimed it would not happen – only to have to back down four days later. The Minister claimed she did not know about the plans previously, despite their advanced status in planning.
The State LNP is opposed to the QR sale and believes it is not in the State’s best long-term interest.
