Win for Coast water police and boaties

Sunshine Coast water police can now get to their boats without battling traffic with the arrival of their new building at Mooloolaba Spit This was an issue I took up and championed, in the Parliament, with Ministers, under Freedom of Information laws (RTI) and directly with and for police.

It’s great to have a win on such an important issue as our police and boaties need our support.

This has been a hard won battle to get a water police station on the water – it was common sense and I’m glad to see the building on site.

The previous home for the Coast water police was at Kawana and meant the officers had to combat traffic to get to their boat. That was crazy. But the arrival of the new building and work to make it available for our hardworking officers is great to see.
