Motorcycle licensing under review
Motorbike riders on the Sunshine Coast are encouraged to have their say on possible changes to the licensing process.
Sunshine Coast mums Donna Ferguson and Lorraine Connolly have fought for changes to the laws after losing their sons in tragic motorbike accidents. They believe young and inexperienced bike riders are being failed by the current Q-Ride and Q-Safe system.
The new State Government have agreed to review motorcycle licence laws in an effort to reduce the number of motorcycle fatalities and accidents.
Parliament’s Transport and Local Government Committee will consult with key industry and training groups, motorcycle rider associations, and road safety experts. Public submissions can be made in writing by July 27 to the Research Director, Transport, Housing and Local Government Committee, Parliament House, George Street, Brisbane.
