Government bungles bus hub design

Plans for the biggest bus hub on the Sunshine Coast are at a standstill due to the State Government's haphazard timetabling for the upgrade to fix the current safety problems.

I've been pursuing the Minister for a start date and I've now been advised that they are still working on a revised concept design - meaning that no work will start for at least another year! I will keep fighting to get this fixed. However, this mess is typical of project delivery under Labor.

Originally the bus station was due to be finished by the end of this year. A glossy PR brochure was sent out by the Department 14 months ago with a promise to have the design done by mid to late 2010 and construction finished by the end of this year.

The Government moved tenants from affected buildings and now the empty buildings are a depressing reminder that work hasn't even started yet!
